Hudson Park & Boulevard

A 4-acre, 6-block long park system in the heart of Manhattan’s midtown presented unique irrigation challenges. WC3 Design worked with lead Landscape Architect Michael Van Valkenburgh, Inc. to create a durable yet efficient irrigation system that could withstand the challenges of such a high-profile urban greenway site. The rolling, mounded topography and lushly planted beds throughout the oasis-like park led the WC3 team to select only the most rugged components available. A public park with 24-hour access meant that overspray onto paved surfaces had to be minimized; a task made more difficult by the tight curves of the landscape.
